For many young people growing up in Chicago’s toughest neighborhoods, this future seems distant. Balancing the demands of home life with the pressures of school can be overwhelming. Yet, within these challenges lies incredible potential.

Since 1998, PEAK has been a catalyst for change, offering a pathway to a brighter future. By combining a rigorous academic program with dedicated mentors, we’ve proven that even the most daunting circumstances can be overcome. Our scholars are not just surviving; they’re thriving.

Without intervention, students from these neighborhoods often attend under-resourced schools with alarmingly low graduation rates. On average, students from these communities have a 33% lower graduation rate compared to PEAK scholars. These schools frequently report unsafe conditions, with many families rating their neighborhood schools as “weak” or “very weak” on safety. Additionally, these schools have an average enrollment of 684 students compared to Holy Trinity’s enrollment of just 350 and a 12:1 student to teacher ratio.
