On September 11, 2024, PEAK hosted an unforgettable Mentor + Scholar Match event at Holy Trinity High School for the PEAK Class of 2028. The evening brought together scholars, families, mentors, and board members to celebrate the beginning of new partnerships.

The event kicked off with separate orientation sessions for scholars and families, led by the experienced Vince Guider. During the scholar/family session, participants learned about the PEAK program, the expectations for scholars and mentors, and the importance of building strong relationships.

Simultaneously, new mentors gathered in the Holy Trinity Robotics Lab for their own orientation. Mentors were provided with valuable training and resources to prepare them for their role in supporting their scholars’ academic and personal growth.

After the orientations, the excitement filled the air as mentors and scholars were paired for the first time. In the Brother Phil Room, introductions were made, and each mentor-scholar duo stepped forward for a commemorative photo.

The evening then turned into a festive gathering as everyone enjoyed a delicious meal together and had the opportunity to connect on a more personal level. Scholars took the initiative to write letters to their mentors, sharing their hopes, dreams, and questions. Mentors, in turn, learned about their scholars’ goals for the upcoming year, setting the stage for a collaborative partnership.

The Mentor + Scholar Match was a resounding success. It laid the foundation for countless new relationships, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose. As the evening drew to a close, everyone left with a renewed sense of excitement and anticipation for the year ahead.
